The Diversity Consortium: A Panel about Independent/Private Schools
An evening for African American and Hispanic/Latinx families to learn about the many benefits of an independent school education, particularly in the elementary and middle school years.

While we have excellent public, charter and parochial schools in the Boston area, independent schools have the flexibility to enroll students from a broad range of communities while fostering self-confidence, resilience, and intellectual curiosity in environments that embrace and celebrate ethnic and cultural diversity. Our schools have outstanding academic resources and curricula that help set the foundation for future success and accomplishments.

This event is meant to foster honest conversations about why families of color have chosen to enroll their children in independent schools. We'll address such questions as: Why look beyond the well-regarded local public school? How can we find a school that feels right? What's involved in the application process? Is financial aid available? How do we know what makes one school different from another? Will anyone look like me?

Now in its eighth year, this event has moved to a virtual platform.
